“Goiás is an excellent market, in the heart of the Brazilian agribusiness, which offers very good growth opportunities”

– Francesco Starace, Enel CEO.

Located in the heart of Brazil (Midwest Region), Goiás has 6.61 million inhabitants and is characterised by good economic, climactic and social conditions.Between 2004 and 2014 the state achieved the third best social development rate in the country, reinforcing its importance to Enel Group. While in 2015 Brazil recorded negative growth in energy demand, Goiás had a 2.5% growth with Celg adding more than 85,300 new customers. The distributor also has lower energy loss rates than the country's average (11.91% recorded in 2015¹ compared with the national average of 13,6%² in the same year).
