Enel brings its global brand to São Paulo with Enel Distribuição São Paulo

  • Around six months after being acquired by Enel, Eletropaulo, the largest distributor in Brazil, is rebranded as Enel Distribuição São Paulo
  • The Enel Group in São Paulo is focusing on network modernisation and digitalisation to improve service quality and on the offer of innovative products and digital solutions through Enel X
  • Stores, as well as the company’s website, digital channels, corporate fleet and worker uniforms, will be aligned with Enel’s global corporate branding

 

São Paulo, December 3rd 2018 – Enel, the multinational power company present in over 30 countries around the world, brings its global corporate brand to its distribution company in São Paulo: as a result, Eletropaulo is rebranded as Enel Distribuição São Paulo around six months after it was acquired by Enel.

"Through the rebranding of our São Paulo distribution company we are strengthening our strategic presence and commitment to Brazil and South America, where we are strongly contributing to the modernisation of electric grids in the region’s most important cities,” saidNicola Cotugno, Enel's Country Manager in Brazil. “In São Paulo, we will work to fully integrate the company within the Enel Group with the aim to improve the quality of service, by bringing the most advanced distribution network technologies, as well as to expand and improve the services and solutions we can offer to our customers."

Enel Distribuição São Paulo added around 7.2 million end users to Enel’s customer base, which reached 17 million in Brazil, thus making the Group the country’s leading distribution company and the largest private player in the Brazilian energy sector in terms of customers and revenues. In addition, Brazil became Enel’s second largest market behind Italy in terms of end users.

With the rebranding, Enel’s distribution company in São Paulo will be aligned with the Group’s visual and brand identity, built upon Enel’s Open Power strategy, which aims to open the Group to more people, new technologies, new energy uses and more partnerships.

The rebranding is part of a process aimed at fully integrating Enel Distribuição São Paulo within the Enel Group, while positioning it as a modern, flexible and sustainable company capable of leading the transition that is underway in the energy market worldwide. As part of the rebranding process, the company’s app will be improved, offering more services compared to its previous version such as debt and contract management.

In addition, company’s stores, websites, digital channels, corporate fleet and worker uniforms will be rebranded in line with Enel’s corporate identity.

In support of the rebranding in São Paulo, Enel will launch for the first time in the state its Global advertising campaign, which will also be on air simultaneously in the states of Rio de Janeiro, Ceará and Goiás.                                                                                      

Enel will also be present in São Paulo through Enel X, the Group’s division dedicated to innovative products and digital solutions. In the first quarter of 2019, Enel X will open its first office in the state to offer new products and services in the region, including smart lighting services for cites, smart home solutions for customers, energy efficiency projects for industries and electric mobility solutions.

In addition, Enel will be active in São Paulo’s free market with the aim to expand its retail base in the state and its market share in Brazil, while providing customers with competitive, long-term supply contracts with energy including from renewable sources.

Enel Distribuição São Paulo:  3.1 billion Brazilian reais to be invested in 2019-2021

Enel will invest around 3.1 billion Brazilian reais in Enel Distribuição São Paulo between 2019 and 2021, in line with the Group’s strategic plan. The investment will mainly be focused on the continuous improvement of service quality including through network digitalisation, with the installation of remote control automated systems that enable real-time network monitoring and management, increasing grid efficiency and reliability. The investments will also support the expansion of grid capacity to meet the growing energy demand in the region during the upcoming years.

Enel is one of the major private players of South America's energy sector with a consolidated presence in the generation, distribution and transmission sectors through Enel Américas and its subsidiaries in Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Peru, while in Chile through Enel Chile and its subsidiaries. In South America, the Enel Group has a total installed capacity of around 21 GW and provides electricity to around 26.5 million customers.
