Chilean, graduated in Electrical Engineering from the Pontifícia Universidade Católica do Chile (Chile Catholic University), with a Masters in Engineering Sciences from the same institution and an MBA from Universidade Adolfo Ibañez (Adolfo Ibañez University). Ponce has 20 years’ experience in the electrical sector and joined the Group in 1995 as commercial manager of the generation business in Chile. He has acted as Director of Endesa Power Trading in London (UK), where he contributed to the commercial development of the company in France, Germany and Switzerland (2000/2003); Head of Regulation and Energy Management, Distribution LATAM (2004/2007), and Planning and Control Director, Distribution Latam, where he spearheaded energy-efficiency initiatives in the region (2008/2011). In 2012 he was appointed as Technical Director, Distribution LATAM and in 2015 he became Head of Network Operations and Maintenance within the Operation and Maintenance function of Global Business Line Infrastructure and Networks. Ponce was elected Infrastructure and Grid Operations Director of Ampla Energia e Serviços S.A. in March 2016.
