José Alves has been Head of Regulation for Enel Brasil since December 2002. One of his duties is to coordinate tariff regulation processes for Enel Distribuição Rio, Enel Distribuição and Enel Cien.
Before joining Enel, Alves was Regulation Manager at the Brazilian Electricity Regulatory Agency (Aneel) from 1998 to 2002.
Alves started his career at Centrais Elétricas do Norte do Brasil S.A – Eletronorte, a state-owned energy generation company. From 1982 to 1996 he managed their energy division and from 1996 to 1998 he held the position of Director of the Energy Commercialisation Advisory Body.
