- The complete address of the location to be serviced (street name, avenue, alley, house number, neighborhood, additional information, landmarks). If there is no physical house number, the number located immediately in front of the meter should be provided.
- Contact phone numbers (mobile and landline if possible).
These are the necessary equipment for connecting your property to the electrical grid, basically consisting of a meter box, pipes (conduits), and a circuit breaker, whose assembly and specifications must comply with Enel's technical standards. The construction of the Energy Entry Standard and the installations are the responsibility of the applicant.
When the power grid is on the same sidewalk as your consumer unit or on the other side of the sidewalk, at a distance greater than 25 meters from the power entry point. It will also be necessary when the connection branch crosses the land of other people. As stipulated in Normative Resolution No. 414, of ANEEL of September 9, 2010, articles 32, 33, and 34, the customer will receive a letter within 30 days from the date of the request. The customer will have 30 days to respond and, upon receiving their response, will receive a letter stating the start date of the work.

Important step: Inspection
Once you request a new connection, Enel will schedule an inspection. The visit will take place during business hours, and it is very important that someone responsible is present at the location to receive our technicians.
Attention: The consumer unit number must be visible (number, lot, block, house, etc.). If the location is not easy to identify, arrange a way to facilitate its location before the scheduled day.
The first inspection is free of charge. Subsequent inspections carried out by Enel at the location will be charged due to non-compliance with requirements or any other reason attributable to the customer, in accordance with ANEEL Resolution 414, of September 9, 2010. The charge will be included in the first electricity bill after the meter is connected.
In this case, during the inspection, the Enel technician will verify if the connection complies with ABNT safety standards (for more information, see Frequently Asked Questions). If the connection is not in an environmental protection area and there is no need for a network study, after the inspection, within 2 (two) business days for urban areas, or 5 (five) business days for rural areas, the power will be installed.
If a connection that does not comply with technical standards is identified, you will receive a form detailing the irregularity and will have up to 30 days to rectify the situation.
- Stairs and ramps;
- Enclosed spaces;
- Interiors and shop windows;
- Near machinery, pumps, tanks, reservoirs, stoves, etc.;
- Locations subject to corrosive or combustible gases, flooding, or excessive vibration;
- Inside the property, i.e., after the entrance gate.
- Observation: In areas protected by environmental law, authorization from the competent authorities will be required. If the property already has environmental authorization, bring it along with the requested documents.
The chosen location must be less than 25 meters away from Enel's overhead distribution network and must allow free access for the company's technical teams.
In addition to monthly meter readings, which determine the value of your electricity bill, repairs may be necessary for emergency service, inspections, or the execution of other services, even if the property is closed.
Build your meter box on the property line, at the front of the lot and facing the public road. If you are installing the meter box on the wall facing the street, the pole must be inside the property.
The center of the meter box display should be between 1.40m and 1.60m high from the finished floor. And, in the case of dual metering, one display should be at 1.60m and the other at 1.20m.
The meter box cannot be completely embedded in the wall (it needs a side opening in the box for cable gland placement).
For loads above 12kVA, it will be necessary to present an ART (Technical Responsibility Annotation) or a TRT (Technical Responsibility Term) from the responsible technician.

The standard pole cannot be made of PVC and must be at least 1.20m away from windows, balconies, stairs, service areas, terraces, etc.
The minimum height between the conductor and the ground, at any point, must be 5.5m where there is vehicle traffic, and 3.5m where there is only pedestrian traffic, both in private and public areas.
The pole specification is described in Technical Specification No. 165 – Secondary Voltage Supply.

Internal electrical installations
After the inspection and completion of the service, the circuit breaker will be switched off. If the internal connection is already ready, simply switch it on. Otherwise, have a private electrician make the internal connection and then switch on the circuit breaker.
- Enel provides power up to the circuit breaker. For power to reach your electrical appliances, you will need to arrange for internal electrical installation by hiring a qualified electrician.
- Hire a qualified electrician who can ensure the ideal load calculation for the number of electronic devices and light bulbs that will be used in your home, the use of reliable connections, and other safety measures. This way, you guarantee the safety of your family and avoid future problems.
